More recently, microarray analysis has revealed 14 upregulated and eight downregulated miRNAs in paired ectopic and eutopic endometrial tissues, and the obtained data and results of the functional analysis suggest that the 22 miRNAs and their cognate mRNA target sequences constitute pathways, including c-Jun, CREB-binding protein, protein kinase B (Akt), and cyclin D1 (CCND1) signalling, which promotes endometriosis[28]. The gene discussed is CCND1; the disease is endometriosis.
