C-reactive protein (CRP) is a prominent component of the innate immune system[25]; and has been employed as a non-specific measure of inflammatory status in epidemiologic studies of cardiovascular disease (CVD).[26] Although the expression of CRP in relation to the etiology and clinical severity of both hypertension and PE has been examined extensively [27]–[30]; there has been a lack of information on the possible association between genetic variants of CRP and PE. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and cardiovascular disorder.
