A recent large-scale analysis of GBM samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) [8] showed genetic alterations including mutations, deletions, and amplifications of DNA in 78%, 87%, and 88% of 206 GBM samples in the core components of RB, TP53, and RTK/PI3K pathways, respectively. The gene discussed is RB1; the disease is glioblastoma.
