Additionally, Mi et al.[61] demonstrated that has-miR-128b is overexpressed in blood cells of acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients when the promoter of its host gene ARPP21 is modified by hypomethylation and the promoter activity is decreased, indicating that the expression of has-miR-128b is controlled by its own promoter.
