CD11b+ cells were by far the largest population in the expanded spleen of tumor-bearing mice, and the CD11b+ population in the spleen showed a similar intermediate result following radiation therapy of the primary tumor, with mice treated with tumor radiation therapy exhibiting significantly fewer CD11b+ cells than untreated mice or mice irradiated on the non-tumor-bearing leg (Figure 2bii).
