An LD block on chromosome 6 in the region of the genes encoding for CCR6 and FGFR1OP (6q27) has been shown to be associated with an increased risk for a variety of autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Crohn’s disease and vitiligo [13], [14], [15], [16]. The gene discussed is CCR6; the disease is vitiligo.
