The Tromsø Study included some 2000 incident MI cases [20], and, like our study, did not show associations between SNPs and MI risk, the HR of MI being 0.93 (95% CI: 0.82–1.06) for subjects in the highest quartile of a genotype score based on rs2298850 (GC), rs10741657 (CYP2R1), rs3794060 (DHCR7/NADSYN1), and rs6013897 (CYP24A1). This evidence concerns the gene CYP24A1 and myocardial infarction.
