Both leprosy patients and Brazilian controls presented the described profile of MASP-2 levels according to the exon 5 flanking polymorphisms, but patients presented lower MASP-2 levels than controls (medians: 253 vs. 348 ng/mL, respectively, Mann-Whitney P = 0.0012, PBf = 0.0084) (Figure 3A).
