Serum HMGB1 levels in patients with acute myocardial infarction were higher compared with those in patients with unstable and stable angina pectoris (77.53±6.86 vs. 63.67±8.6 and 44.39±9.01 μg/l, respectively; all P<0.01). This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and angina pectoris.
