RT2-PCR method was used to measure DNA titers in the vaginal tissues collected at 3 and 7 day of infection in mice; the results showed significantly increased titers of HSV-2 in the vaginal tissues of Fas and FasL-deficient mice both at 3 and 7 day of infection (p≤0.005) (Fig. 6).
