In line with our results, the presence of an increased percentage of intermediate and non-classical monocytes in end-stage kidney disease patients undergoing dialysis has been reported [25], [26], [28], [32], [33] Scherberich et al. found an increase in the monocyte subset co-expressing CD14 with CD16 in patients with chronic renal failure [27]. The gene discussed is CD14; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
