In conclusion, the main results of our study are : 1) a complete response after RFA and high baseline albumin level significantly increase survival; 2) the overall survival rate at 60 months is 41%, and remains low because of the high rate of recurrence (67.8%); 3) a tumor size >3 cm significantly affects the response after RFA; 4) RFA appears as a safe and effective treatment for early stage HCC patients. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma.
