Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors, for instance, are used in the treatment of colorectal cancer, head and neck cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer among other malignancies (Ciuleanu et al. 2012; Saltz et al. 2004; Luedke et al. 2012; Busam et al. 2001) and are in general well tolerated. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
