The purpose of this study was then to assess (i ) the appropriateness of plasma levels of TnT and P-Ser208-TnT to monitor disease progression in an experimental animal model of HF; (ii ) to compare their performance to circulating markers of cardiovascular disorders: BNP, TnI, CRP and TIMP-1; (iii ) to determine if the plasma levels of P-Ser208-TnT correlate with a pharmacological improvement of cardiac dysfunction and remodelling in this model. The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
