Different studies have indicated that PDGF and PDGFRβ are expressed by tumor cells [8, 9] as well as tumor-associated endothelial cells, pericytes, and other stromal cells in colon carcinomas [10-12], which are thought to provide a favorable microenvironment for the growth and survival of cancer cells [11, 13]. This evidence concerns the gene PDGFRB and colon carcinoma.
