In the present study, we examined gene expression in the gastric mucosa in a H. pylori-infected and high-salt diet-treated mouse gastric tumor model by oligonucleotide microarray and found two candidate up-regulated genes including Cd177 and Reg3g. We also investigated the expression of CD177 in human advanced gastric cancers by immunohistochemistry, and obtained evidence as a potential prognostic factor for stomach carcinogenesis. The gene discussed is REG3G; the disease is gastric neoplasm.
