Additionally, fasting plasma glucagon concentrations were higher in the HF (+126%; P< 0.001), HF-A (+75%; P<0.05), and HF-L (+108%; P<0.01) groups than in the SC group (Table 1), indicating that insulin resistance contributes to the dysregulation of glucagon secretion in altered glycemic states.
