TP53 and lung carcinoma: Although the clinical value of these antibodies remains subject to debate, the finding of p53 antibodies in the sera of individuals with high risk of cancer (such as exposed workers or heavy smokers) [71], and the decrease of antibodies against p53 correlating with a good response to early therapy in lung cancer patients [35], indicate that they have promising potential in the early detection of cancer, as well as monitoring the therapies.
