This randomized, placebo controlled trial found that this metal-protein attenuating compound (MPAC) that affects the Cu2(+)-mediated and Zn2(+)-mediated toxic oligomerization of Abeta seen in AD significantly lowered the CSF levels of Aβ and significantly improved cognition in AD patients (Lannfelt et al., 2008; Faux et al., 2010).
