Our results also show that in almost all cases the changes in blood coagulation proteins were greater in patients with advanced periportal fibrosis (Pattern E+F) than those with central fibrosis (Pattern D), although statistical significance for the difference was only reached for protein C. Nevertheless, our data suggest that platelet counts, Factor VII and protein C are good predictors of advanced fibrosis. This evidence concerns the gene F7 and Periportal fibrosis.
