CD4 and diabetes mellitus: Intriguingly, Chandawarkar et al [47] demonstrated that high dose gp96 immunization-induced suppressive CD4+CD25+ and CD4+CD25- T cell populations had similar protective activity against diabetes in the adoptive transfer experiments, which is different from our observation that only CD4+CD25+ but not CD4+CD25- T cell populations exhibited protective effect against Con A-induced liver injury (Figure 2H).
