A meta-analysis based on 2298 cases of cervical cancer and 1903 controls from eight study populations showed a summary OR of 1.31 (95% CI, 1.14–1.52); that analysis compared individuals carrying the GA/AA genotypes with those carrying the GG genotype of TNF-α-308, in which further stratification analysis by ethnicity showed that the risk remained significant among both Caucasians and Asians [30]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and cervical carcinoma.
