Neither the HAT nor the SAM mutant complemented any of the Atelp3-10 phenotypes, including partially restored SA tolerance (Figure 7B), reduced SA accumulation after Psm ES4326 infection (Figure 7C and D), delayed/decreased defense gene expression (Figure 7E), and enhanced susceptibility to Psm ES4326 (Figure 7F), indicating that both the HAT and radical SAM domains of AtELP3 are essential for its function in plant immune responses.
