Indeed, when we analyzed the immunohistochemical localization of BDNF in the brains of APdE9 and WT mice, strong anti-BDNF immunoreactivity surrounded amyloid plaques in the hippocampus and cortex of APdE9 mice in a “doughnut-like” fashion (Fig. 8A–C). This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and amyloidosis.
