Interestingly, only LG cancers were seen to have significantly shorter cilia (median=0.86 μm; p<0.0001) compared to normal (median=1.3 μm), and this statistically significant difference was seen in both CK5+ cancer cells (median=0.93 μm; p<0.0001) as well as CK5-cancer cells (median=0.82 μm; p<0.0001; Table S4A in Table S4). Here, KRT5 is linked to cancer.
