ARMCX3 and cancer: Given that Alex3 protein was initially described as a putative tumor suppressor factor and is deleted in several epithelial carcinomas [9], and that the Wnt/β-catenin pathway plays a prevalent role in cancer initiation and tumoral growth [20], [50], future analyses are required to unravel the exact contribution of Alex3 to these pathological processes and the regulation of this protein by the Wnt pathway.
