Rvb1 and Rvb2 (Pontin and Reptin in human) are evolutionarily highly conserved AAA+ ATPases and have been reported to be overexpressed in several cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma, colon and bladder cancer, and melanoma; they are potential targets for cancer therapy [7]. The gene discussed is RUVBL2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
