In the present study, aqueous extract and SM both regulate PPAR-γ mRNA levels in NA-STZ-induced diabetic rat model along with induced expression of adiponectin, LPL, and SREBP-1c suggesting it as a potent modulator of diabetes-related modification in adipocytes and thus corrects overall lipid metabolism, which can correct dyslipidemia by increasing insulin sensitivity [32]. This evidence concerns the gene SREBF1 and diabetes mellitus.
