Two recent studies had identified 3 SNPs, rs2856718 (HLA-DQA2/DQB1), rs3077 (HLA-DPA1), and rs9272105 (HLA-DQA1/DRB1) to be associated with HBV-related HCC development [17], [30], while other studies failed to associate rs3077 and other HLA SNPs with HBV-related HCC development [15], [21], [31]. Here, HLA-DQA2 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
