[8], [9] The adenoma-carcinoma sequence seems to be accelerated in MMR gene mutation carriers, [10] and carriers have a 25–70% risk of developing colorectal cancer up to age 70, at a relatively young age, [2]–[5], [11] compared to 2–5% in the general Western population.
