In their work, Fabbri et al. showed that miR-21 and miR-29a secreted by tumor cells are capable of binding to murine TLR-7 and human TLR-8 in immune cells, triggering secretion of prometastatic inflammatory cytokines that ultimately may lead to tumor growth and metastasis (Fabbri et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene TLR7 and neoplasm.
