The upregulation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) [14, 15] and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [16], dysregulated microRNA (miRNA) [17], and activation of cancer stem cell (CSC)/epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) programs are involved in oncogenesis and progression of both cancer types [18–20].
