To further investigate if IL-10 plays a role in modulating the inflammatory response during acute brucellosis, C57BL/6 wild-type and Il10-deficient mice (IL-10−/−) were infected IP with 5×105 CFU of B. abortus 2308 and responses were evaluated at 9 d.p.i. Interestingly, IL-10−/− mice had significantly lower bacterial survival in both the spleen (Fig. 2A) and the liver (Fig. 2B). Here, IL10 is linked to brucellosis.
