The INS-VNTR class I/III genotype has been shown to be associated with type 1 and 2 diabetes,39–41 obesity,42 and polycystic ovary syndrome.43 Other studies showed that the genotype is related to growth in early life.44,45 Our results indicate that INS-VNTR class III correlates with increased size at birth. This evidence concerns the gene INS and obesity disorder.
