We have previously shown that upon stimulation with cisplatin, JNK may directly phosphorylate c-Jun at serine residues 63 and 73 to activate ERCC-1 transcription via AP-1 in A2780/CP70 ovarian cancer cells (32), which would place ERCC-1 under the influence of the JNK/Ras/AP-1 signal transduction pathway. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and ovarian carcinoma.
