Consistent with this, we were unable to detect PS2V transcript formation in PC12 (rat pheochromocytoma) cells and mouse brain following treatment with NaN3 to mimic hypoxia (see Materials and Methods, data not shown), supporting that HMGA1a could not bind to the PSEN2 transcripts of these rodents to cause alternative splicing. This evidence concerns the gene PSEN2 and hereditary pheochromocytoma-paraganglioma.
