Besides surgical, LHRH agonist and antagonist inhibition of testosterone biosynthesis non-steroidal antiandrogens like flutamide (Eulexin®) and bicalutamide (Casodex®) which inhibit the AR transactivation function belong to the standard therapeutic armamentarium for treatment of advanced PCa and are also used in combination with anti-LHRH treatment to achieve complete androgen blockade and prevent the initial flare-up phenomenon of LHRH agonists [4,26].
