JUP and rheumatoid arthritis: The presence of Pg DNA in the sub-gingival plaque was associated with modifications in the cell blood count: RA patient positive for Pg DNA had a higher leucocyte and neutrophil count compared to patients negative for the bacterium (leucocytes: Pg positive RA 8.04 ± 1.82 cells × 109/L vs. Pg negative RA 6.41 ± 1.05 cells × 109/L, P = 0.02; Neutrophils: Pg positive RA 5.23 ± 1.69 cells × 109/L vs. Pg negative RA 3.76 ± 1.09 cells × 109/L, P = 0.03) (Figure 1).
