Zinc finger domain phosphorylation has been detected on other transcriptional regulators [33], [34], and phosphorylation mediated abrogation of DNA binding with effect on transforming ability has also been described for other leukemia associated transcription factors, including HOXA9, which intriguingly cooperates with EVI1 in leukaemogenesis [18], [35]. Here, HOXA9 is linked to leukemia.
