MET and breast carcinoma: In our previous study on miR-221/222, treatment of basal-like breast cancer cells with a mitogen-activated protein/extracellular signal-regulated kinase kinase (MEK) inhibitor resulted in MET and alludes to the strategy that dual treatment with MEK and NF-κB or JAK2 inhibitors may be able to dampen metastasis and sensitize previously resistant and refractory cells to chemotherapy [10]and suggest that patients with basal-like breast cancer may benefit with a MEK inhibitor combined with a/NF-κB or JAK2 inhibitor.
