The other multivariate model, entitled Model B, comprised all 333 patients with the major traditional risk factors for cardiovascular disease excluded from Model A. In this multivariate final Model B, among patients ≥ 40 years, those with CD4 levels ≥ 350 lymphocytes/mm3 had a 10.8 higher risk (95% CI: 2.89 – 40.4; p < 0.001) of presenting subclinical atherosclerosis. Here, CD4 is linked to cardiovascular disorder.
