In this study, analysis from C. trachomatis infected macrophages revealed increased levels of GM-CSF, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-6, TNF, IL-12p70, and IL-10 after a 2-day infection, with TNF, IL-6, and IL-1α being more robustly produced (Figure 1(a)). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is infection.
