Morphological analysis using inverted phase contrast microscope, Hoechst 33342/PI dual staining procedures by fluorescence microscope and through activation of caspase-3, showed that curzerenone and alismol were able to trigger cell death of MCF-7, Ca Ski, and HCT-116 human cancer cells through apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner. Here, CASP3 is linked to cancer.
