Of particular interest, cytokine priming of naïve CD4 T cells from HLA-DRB1*0401 healthy donors enabled proliferative responses to citrullinated vimentin and melanocyte glycoprotein gp100 peptides that have been previously shown to be relevant for the T cell responses in patients with RA (Hill et al., 2003; Law et al., 2012) and melanoma (Phan et al., 2003), respectively. Here, HLA-DRB1 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
