FAAH and prostate carcinoma: In the case of prostate cancer, both CB1 receptors and FAAH are overexpressed in the tumour tissue compared with non-malignant luminal epithelial tissue or cells [20], [27]–[29] and in a large well-characterised cohort of patients with a long follow-up, we noted a higher frequency of severe cases (Gleason score 8–10) among those cases with a high tumour CB1 receptor and/or FAAH immunoreactivity [27], [29].
