RGN and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: To address the potential role of SMP30 in NAFLD/NASH pathogenesis, we generated SMP30-KO mice on a Leprdb/db background (Leprdb/dbSmp30Y/−) and investigated the lipid/lipoprotein profiles, hepatic expression of genes relevant to lipid metabolism and histological changes in the livers of Leprdb/dbSmp30Y/− mice fed a standard diet.
