A recent network meta‐analysis of hypertension clinical trials ranked the association of antihypertensive agents with incident diabetes as lowest for RASB (ACE inhibitors and ARBs), followed by CCBs, which appear neutral, and highest for BB and TD.13 Our data from the KPNW population are consistent with the findings in this meta‐analysis of RCTs, suggesting that incidence of DM following exposure to antihypertensive medications is generalizable to a much broader, real‐life population. Here, ACE is linked to hypertensive disorder.
