CML levels detected in this study with 3 mM glycolaldehyde (approximately 16 nmoles/mg apoA-I, 7 μg CML/mg), lie within the range reported by others for HDL of people with diabetes and renal deficiency [22], also suggesting that the damage induced by these bolus concentrations may be pathologically relevant. The gene discussed is APOA1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
