In order to analyze changes in ion transporters expressed in other brain areas involved in the pathology of HE, we have performed triple immunofluorescent stainings of voltage-sensitive chloride channel 2 (ClC-2), TH (detecting dopaminergic neurons in SNc) and GFP (detecting GABAergic neurons in SNr) in substantia nigra of normal and TAA-treated transgenic mice. Here, CLCN2 is linked to hereditary elliptocytosis.
