In addition, Haas et al. [14] found an altered DNA methylation pattern in the myocardium of patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy, causing mis-expression of the genes for lymphocyte antigen 75 (LY75) and tyrosine kinase-type cell surface receptor HER3 (ERBB3), the zebrafish orthologs of which were found to be important for adaptive and maladaptive responses in heart failure. This evidence concerns the gene LY75 and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.
